Each Spring the Fiber Guild of the Savannahs participates in Oatland Island Wildlife Center's Spring Festival formerly called Sheep to Shawl. Several members of the guild helped shear the two Oatland sheep Storm and Cloud as well as the year old angoral goats . Guild members demonstrate all sorts of fiber art techniques, such as spinning, weaving, knitting, carding, etc. Members work with children on differ fiber related activities. The highlight of the event is the sale of the handwoven shawl created from handspun wool yarn spun by guild members.
