Discover the art of block printing on fabric in this hands-on, half-day workshop! Participants will learn how to safely use carving tools to transfer their unique design onto a linoleum block, then bring their design to life by printing it directly onto fabric.
The class supply kit includes ($15 payable to instructor):
linoleum blocks
carving tool
ink
one cotton tea towel.
Please feel free to bring your own plain cotton items, like a handkerchief, tote bag, or t-shirt, to personalize. Bring lunch or a snack and a beverage!
No prior printmaking experience required. Leave with your custom block and a beautifully printed textile!

About the Instructor:
Laurie Darby is a Savannah-based painter, printmaker, and educator who has been sharing her love of art since her childhood in Philadelphia. Formally trained as a painter, Laurie is a passionate educator, having taught aspiring artists of all ages. Laurie’s work explores organic structures, history, memory, and the African-American experience and is shaped by her travels throughout Europe and the Caribbean.
