Learn how to make a pair of felted and beaded earrings! Nancy will lead us step by step to making “perfect” uniform and smooth round balls. Students will decorate them with Japanese seed beads, handmade glass beads and wire. Our beads are worked into eye catching light weight ear rings. No drilling required!

 Student should bring a small towel (for drying hands),

A bowl ,either plastic or metal, to hold about 3 cups water,

Small scissors

Flat and round nose pliers

Wire cutters,

A thimble.

Supply cost is $5.00 and includes wool roving, Japanese glass seed beads, Italian glass beads, cut glass beads, specialty needles, sticks, thread, wire, ear wires,

Handouts are included.

Class is limited to 10 students

Nancy Algrim, a California native, grew up the Redwoods.  A textile lover and creator since first grade, Nancy went on to earn a BFA in Fiber Arts with a specialty in Wet Felting from the University of Oregon.

She opened the Black Iris boutique in 1981, offering European fabrics and custom sewing.  Nancy creates the majority of the accessories for the shop.  These include hand felted items, Kumihimo jewelry, knotted pearls, seed bead, lampworked and fused glass jewelry. She loves to share her skills with others by teaching.  Workshops are regularly offered at the Black Iris and when she travels.
