Taste of… Shibori Silk Scarf - 1/2 day

The class will use overdyeing and shibori techniques(banded resists) with acid dyes to create bright, colorful, patterned scarves. The scarves are presoaked in vinegar solution(the “acid”), dyed, then finished in the microwave, to set the colors. Ironed while damp for beautiful finish.
Material Fee: $30 (two silk scarves, dyes, tools, etc. provided) payable to TREESA on day of class.
Bring: gloves, apron and old towel
TREESA received her undergraduate degree in Ceramics and later founded a pottery supply company, the Ceramic Store. She received an MFA in Sculpture and Jewelry did post graduate studies at Cranbrook Academy. As a lifelong knitter, yarn became an obsession. She’s currently a dyer, spinner and weaver.
