Fiber Guild of the Savannahs will host fiber artist Nancy Algrin at the 2025-2026 Season’s first meeting September 7th at 10:30 am, at Oatland Wildlife Center. Following our business meeting, Nancy will speak about her career in fiber arts and the Wet Felting process.
Nancy Algrin is a Texas-based artist with a BFA in Fiber Arts and a specialty in Wet Felting from the University of Oregon. Her presentation has in depth information on fiber characteristics, and the felting process, as well as finishing and embellishing techniques. Nancy will share her journey as an artist and tips on pricing, presenting and selling your work.
For those who would like a hands-on experience with Wet Felting, Nancy will offer 2 workshops over the course of that weekend. The first workshop will follow Saturday’s meeting and presentation: A Taste of Wet Felting a Flower Broach. This workshop is perfect for beginners – no knowledge necessary. Sunday, Nancy will return for A Taste of Felting Earrings. This workshop is a great follow up for intermediaries as it will cover embellishing and beading. She promises you will leave knowing how to make perfect embellished beads!
